Sony Xperia R1 and Sony Xperia R1 Plus Smartphone, Designed specially for the Indian Market.
Only a few weeks after launching its Xperia XZ1 in the U.S. Sony just announced the launch of its Xperia R1 and R1 Plus on the Indian market. Both handsets were developed solely for the Indian market. Sony describe the phones as being “designed for Indian lifestyle” and “designed to excite the new Indian.”
The most noteworthy specification of both device is that they were designed to support for fast upload and browsing via uplink data compression (UDC). The Xperia R1 features a 5.2-inch display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor that clocks at 1.4GHz.
Sony Xperia R1 gets 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage capacity while the R1 Plus gets 3GB of RAM and a 32GB internal storage capacity. Both device comes with a microSD card slot capable of supporting expansion up to 128GB.

Other than the difference in storage they share similar specifications. They are both fitted with a 13-megapixel main camera with autofocus and LED flash. There’s a 8-megapixel camera on the front for selfies, multiple connectivity options, a 2,620mAh battery and runs Android 7.1 right out the box.
The smartphones are now available for pre-order in India but only comes in the colors of black and silver. Sony currently retails the phone at INR 13,990 while the Xperia R1 Plus retails at INR 15,990. You can pre-order from multiple outlets including Flipkart, Amazon India, Sony Centers, and major retail but won’t ship until November 10th.
