Oppo has announced the launch of the Oppo R1C smartphone on its home market, the new device features an unusual design which includes a sapphire glass panel at the back.
The china-bound smartphone comes equipped with an 5-inch display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, its powered by a Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor, a 13MP Sony IMX214 camera on the rear of the device and a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
The sapphire glass panel on the back makes the device an attractive option for those who purchase a smartphone for design and looks. It runs Android 4.4 operating system with Oppo’s Color OS 2.0.1 user interface right out the box. The R1C also features a slim form at only 0.27-inch thick and hosts a 2420mAh battery.
Oppo is currently taking pre-orders for the Sapphire Glass R1C, which should begin shipping in China on January 20th for the price of 2,499 RM about $400USD.
