MSI has announced its latest Notebook in its series of Gaming Notebooks, the GX780 which seems to be an upgrade to the GX680 that was reported back in March. The new GX780 features a 17.3-inch display that can be equipped with Full HD 1920x1080p or HD+ 1600×900 LED-backlit display comparing to the 15.6-inch display found on the GX680. The GX780 Gaming Notebook is powered by Intel’s 2nd generation Sandy Bridge platform which includes a 2GHz Core i7-2630QM Processor, NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 555M graphics card with 1GB GDDR5 and DirectX 11 support, up to 16GB of RAM and a RAID-0 dual hard disk architecture which enables up to 1.5TB of maximum storage. It comes with a rugged design that was constructed using aluminum manganese alloy and a finish with brushed aluminum. It measures 428 x 288 x 55mm and weighs in at 3.9kg plus there are 30-color LED backlit underneath the keyboard, it has larger Ctrl and Alt keys, windows key located on the right and there are two speakers and a subwoofer included. Other specifications includes Bluetooth 2.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, a multi card reader, Blu-ray drive /Super Multi Drive, an integrated HD webcam, two USB 3.0 ports, three USB 2.0, eSATA and a HDMI v1.4 output.
