Motorola just launched its new Moto Z3 Play. A MotoMods modular phone with battery life that will last over the weekend. It also comes with water-repelling coating.
Motorola just announced another modular smartphone, the Moto Z3 Play. It joins the company’s Z line of smartphones that supports MotoMods. MotoMods are a line of modules that attaches to the back of the smartphone to add features such as speakers, game controller, battery etc.
There are a wide range of MotoMods available which includes an Alexa-enabled speaker, a 360-degree camera, a projector, a printer, a zoom camera, rear covers and more.
In order to make the new Moto Z3 Play compatible with existing modules, they had to keep the size and shape very similar to predecessors in a time when smartphones screens are getting much larger.
Moto Z3 Play comes equipped with a 6-inch AMOLED display with a 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution. It is powered by a Snapdragon 636 CPU and 4GB of RAM. The Moto Z3 Play comes in the storage options of 32GB or 64GB.
Motorola also added a dual camera setup on its newest modular phone. It features a 12MP sensor and a 5MP sensor. There’s a single 8MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens.
Other specifications of the Moto Z3 Play includes an integrated fingerprint sensor on the power button, Near Field Communication, a 3,000mAh battery and a front-facing mono speaker. It also comes with a special water-repelling coating that keeps the device protected inside and out.
The Moto Z3 Play will be available soon and will cost a suggest retail price of $499 per unit.
