Magellan’s latest addtion to its line of eXplorist Handheld GPS devices is its eXplorist Pro 10 handheld GPS that was designed for GPS data collection. The eXplorist Pro 10 is a rugged handheld device that features a IPX-7 waterproof casing and it is also works perfect in the sun with its 3-inch sunlight-readable transflective touchscreen display with a 400×240 pixel resolution. The device could be compared to as a Smartphone as it runs the Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and powered by a 533MHz Processor, 128MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage plus it can be expanded using its microSDHC card slot which enables extra storage of maps.
The eXplorist Pro 10 also comes with integrated Bluetooth 2.0 wireless technology, a 3.2-megapixel camera that has a geotagging function and video recording capabilities. There are also other specs such as a built-in voice recorder, 3D compass, pressure altimeter, barometer and built-in speaker as well. The device is powered by two standard AA batteries which delivers up to 15 hours of operation, it will be available through Magellan’s retailers nationwide for a price of $699.99.
