Today Intel announced the coming of its new Atom platform which is also known as the Moorestown Platform. The Moorestown Platform comes with the new Atom Z6xx processor which was codenamed Lincroft, the Atom Z6xx Processor is based on 45nm process and there is the MP20 platform controller hub which is codenamed Langwell and a dedicated Mixed Signal IC.
The Intel Atom Z6xx Platform uses lower power and will be powering Smartphones and Tablets. The Atom Z6xx SoC offers up to 1.5GHz for handhelds/smartphones and 1.9GHz for tablets and comes with integrated Intel GMA 600 graphics. The new Platform supports Android, Moblin 2.1/MeeGo 1.0 Mobile Software Platform.
