Evan Blass just unveiled the Huawei TalkBand B5 Wristwatch that transforms into a Bluetooth headset.
The infamous leakster posted a photo showcasing the alleged Bluetooth headset / wristwatch hybrid, the next in the company’s TalkBand line.
The upcoming Huawei smartband joins Huawei’s Talkband B series which started off with the Huawei TalkBand B1. This was Huawei’s first try at the smartband series which proved successful with many users.
The TalkBand B3 came with IP57 rating for dust and water resistance, however the company added leather straps which could eventually get damaged after exposure to water / liquids over a period of time.
Why Huawei Didn’t Make The TalkBand B4 Fitness Tracker?
Apparently, there are no TalkBand B4 in the TalkBand B series of smartwatches.
Huawei jumped from Talkband B3 directly to the TalkBand B5. It is alleged that the reason why Huawei didn’t develop a TalkBand B4 is because of Chinese superstitions.
In Chinese culture, the number 4 is considered to be unlucky because it is nearly homophonous to the word “death”. Similar to “Friday the 13th” in the some western cultures which some think is a hoax while others take it seriously.
So despite the name, this isn’t Huawei’s 5th-generation TalkBand, it’s actually the 4th-generation TalkBand.
