HTC tweeted a teaser hinting the launch of a new smartphone. The new phone is expected to be the brand’s next flagship device.
The teaser is simple a photo of the insides of a phone with May 23rd on it which was tweeted with the tagline “a phone that is more than the sum of its specs”.
Making an estimated guess, the teardown style phone is of the HTC U12 or HTC U12+. There has been several leaks before this which states the handset will sport a dual rear camera setup paired with a 12-megapixel and a 16-megapixel sensor.
It will also feature a dual 8-megapixel shooter on the front for quality selfies. Other specifications which are expected from the upcoming HTC U12 includes a 6-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 845 chipset with 6GB of RAM, IP68 water resistance and the same squeeze options found on the HTC U11.
The HTC U12 will be available in 64GB and 128GB variants which can both be expanded via its integrated microSD card slot.
The phones will feature a massive 3420mAh battery, fingerprint scanner and could come with Google’s Project Treble which will fast-track Android updates in the future.
