Apple just made an announcement which will make developers happy, however will lead to some frustrating times for iOS device owners with 8GB and 16GB built-in storage capacities.
Apple has increased to allotted size for applications submitted to the app store. Since the beginning, the allotted size for applications in the App Store has been 2GB in size, but Apple has now double that giving developers more leg room to express their creativity within the applications they create.
The file size limit for download over cellular connection is still 100MB, which is really low considering that most of the apps available for twice that size. The 4GB increase in size applies to WiFi downloads, meaning developers can express more creativity in their apps, by using more media and providing a richer user experience.
