<p>The Panasonic LUMIX TS20 is an entry-level rugged camera that follows the LUMIX TS4, it is waterproof to 16 feet (5 meters), shockproof to approximately 5 feet (1.5 meters), dustproof and freezeproof to temperatures as low as 14ºF. The camera comes equipped with a 16.1-megapixel sensor, a 4x optical zoom and offers 8x extended zoom with the Intelligent Zoom function, thanks to Panasonic&#8217;s Intelligent Resolution technology. </p>

Unlike its predecessor that records 1080p videos, the TS20 records only 1280x720p HD video and its doesn&#8217;t get any GPS functions. However, Panasonic managed to drop in its whole range of features which includes the iA (Intelligent Auto) mode that comes with a suite of functions such as Face Detection, MEGA O.I.S., AF Tracking, Intelligent ISO Control, Intelligent Scene Selector and Intelligent Exposure.</p>

The TS20 has a 2.7-inch Intelligent LCD display with High Angle mode and it supports SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards for storage. </p>

Like its predecessor, the TS4 or FT4 is a four-proof camera, meaning it is waterproof to 40 feet submerged, shockproof to approximately 6.6 feet, freezeproof to as low as 14ºF, and dustproof. It comes equipped with a 12.1-Megapixel Hi-Speed CCD sensor, there&#8217;s a 4.6x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens, a LSI Venus Engine and a 2.7-inch LCD display.</p>

Also included is a new Intelligent Zoom function, enabling the camera&#8217;s zoom range to be extended to 9.3x, it features &#8216;Quad Indicator&#8217; which comprises of GPS functions such as the ability to collect data and covers more than a million landmarks and 82 countries/regions, and with the included software, the user can refer and sort photos by location names, Compass, Altimeter and Barometer. The TS4 also records Full HD videos in AVCHD and MP4 formats and also supports 3.7fps high-speed shooting in 12.1 Megapixel full resolution.</p>

Panasonic also packed a bunch of extras including the new Time Lapse Shot mode, in which the camera automatically take pictures at pre-set interval and condense the data into a footage; the Miniature Effect mode, in which the peripheries are defocused while saturation and contrast is emphasized, makes the photo look like a diorama; and the Panorama shooting mode. There&#8217;s also Panasonic’s iA (Intelligent Auto) mode offering POWER O.I.S. Motion Deblur, Face Detection, Face Recognition, Motion Detection and an Auto Retouch function that adjusts contrast and brightness to your photos. </p>
<p>The new ruggedized Panasonic DMC-TS4 will support SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards for storage, it has a micro HDMI output for connectivity with larger screens and will cost about $400 in the color options of black, blue, silver and orange.</p>

<p>Other than being a ruggedized point and shoot camera, the D20 also comes with a few noticeable specifications as well, these includes its DIGIC 4 image processor, it is equipped with a 5x optical zoom lens, a 3-inch LCD display to keep objects in frame, it has built-in GPS for geotagging your photos with latitude, longitude, and elevation information, it has Intelligent IS function that automatically chooses from six different modes to optimize image stabilization for shooting condition and it also features the HS SYSTEM for enhanced low-light shooting performance.</p>
