Samsung E6 e-Book Reader now available in the US

Samsung America today announced the imminent availability of its first-ever eReader product for the US market. If you don’t remember the device comes with a 6-inch e-ink display at 600 x 800 resolution with 8-Gray scale for easy readability, integrated front speakers, Samsung’s text-to-speech (TTS) technology, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0.

There is also 2GB of internal storage for your e-books and can be upgraded to 16GB using a microSD card. The e-book reader supports E-pub, PDF/a, TXT, BMP and JPG files. It utilizes Samsung’s unique EmoLink technology enables users to share content between Samsung eReader devices. In addition, a built-in dedicated program will sync the eReader scheduler with users’ personal PC Outlook.

Bookeen today announced its upcoming Orizon e-Book Reader With Multitouch Sipix Display which will be available on the US market coming in May 2010. The e-Book reader comes with a 6-inch multitouch Sipix display with 800 x 600 resolution.

There are also features that you don’t see in the everyday e-book readers which includes WiFi, Bluetooth, an accelerometer and a mini-USB. It comes with 1GB of memory and a micro-SD slot for saving e-books in ePub and PDF file formats.

Remember the Barnes and Noble Nook?, it just got colorized by Colorware. Now you can get yours in a new palette of colors with the option to bring in yours in to get colorized for $125 or buy one from them for $400.

The Nook has a 2GB Internal Storage which will store up to 1500 books and support for microSD cards up to 16GB. It supports book in the formats of EPUB, eReader, PDF, MP3 and JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP files. There is 3G support, WiFi and a 3.5-inch colored touchscreen display.

Samsung has announced a new e-Book Reader which has a Handwriting Recognition feature. It is the Samsung E6 which has a 6-inch touchscreen display and WiFi connectivity to share and receive content online.

Samsung announced the first partner to provide content for the device will be Google, which has digitized many popular and classic open-domain literary works. In my opinion the Samsung E6 will bring some serious competition to the existing e-book readers on the market including the Amazon Kindle. The Samsung E6 is scheduled for release later this year and we can look for a price of $399.

Skiff e-Book Reader to debut at CES 2010

Skiff e-Book Reader
Skiff in collaboration with Sprint presents the Skiff e-Book Reader. The reader is expected to launch at the upcoming CES 2010 this week. The device measures just a quarter of an inch thick and boast a 11.5-inch Touchscreen Display with a 1200 x 1600 resolution.

There is 4GB of RAM and support for microSD card slot, a miniUSB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, WiFi and supports 3G connectivity via Sprint operator. After the showcase at the CES 2010 then the price will be announced.

MSI and Asus Dual-Screen e-Book Reader
There is word coming in that MSI and Asus’s Dual-Screen e-Book Reader will be showcasing at the upcoming CES 2010. The Asus Dual-Screen e-Book Reader features a 9-inch display and is powered by an nVidia Tegra graphics chip.

The CES 2010 will be held in in Las Vegas, USA from January 7-10.

ONN Technology recently rolled out a new e-Book Reader Device on the Chinese Market, dubbed the ONN E1. It features a 6-inch e-ink display which is capable of showing 20 lines per page with 30 characters per line.
