A few days ago Sony announced its new BRAVIA VPL-VW85 SXRD home cinema projector in Berlin. It is Sony’s flagship SXRD projector and offers Full HD 1080p picture quality.

The BRAVIA VPL-VW85 uses Sony’s High Frame Technology 3SXRD panel which doubles the number of images displayed per second, thus enabling fluid, natural movement no matter how fast the action gets. The SXRD projector also has features which includes BRAVIA ENGINE 2 image processing, a 120,000:1 contrast ratio and a 800 ANSI lumens brightness thanks to BRAVIA technology and all new Advanced Iris 3 technology. It has a In Cinema Mode which makes it possible to view films as close as possible , reproducing details such as natural skin tone, lighting, colour, and contrast.

The BRAVIA VPL-VW85 also has 3 Cinema Modes for the viewer to choose from, BRAVIA Sync, HDMI Port, a component video, a S-video, a Composite input ports and a All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens with 1.6x motorized zoom.
