Silicon Power has announced its new Armor A50 Portable Hard Drive which derives from the concept of its Armor A10 Portable Hard Drive. It is a silicon rubber protected portable hard disk drive with an ultra protected portable hard disk drive. It features an elegant aluminum casing and meets compliance with US MIL-STD-810F (transit drop test), it was tested for product dropped directly onto a concrete floor (or harder surface); on a drop-test machine, the product freefalls from a height of 122cm.

It is available in 250GB, 320GB, 500GB, 640GB storage capacities and utilizes USB 2.0 interface that features a maximum of 480Mb / sec transfer rate. There is a LED status light to indicate transfer modes and a OneTouch backup button.
