Samsung today announced its new High-Capacity 250 Gigabyte Hard Drive. The Spinpoint N3U is a 1.8-inch hard drive that incorporates a native USB controller on its printed circuit board. It was built to give a better performance and it consumers 40 percent less power than a 2.5” hard drive of the same storage capacity.

The Spinpoint N3U can store up to 125 Gigabytes per platter for a total 250GB data storage capacity. It also eliminates possible points of failure due to loose cable connections and optimizes performance but eliminating the interrupt service time. The interrupt Samsung Spinpoint N3U comes with a 8MB cache memory and retails for $199 in mid-July.
