Olympus Stylus 1000

When I bought my last point-and-shoot camera, the Nikon Coolpix S7c, this camera from Olympus was one of the cameras that caught my attention. It wasn’t available at that time, but the tech specifications made the camera really interesting. First of all it’s a very compact camera, secondly it boosts a 10 megapixel resolution and it also has a gyroscopic sensor to minimize camera shakes. Imaging resource has published a full test of the Olympus Stylus 1000 - and I’m a bit surprised that the camera didn’t get a better conclusion:
If you need a digicam with all-weather seals, this is a good choice, but we did find better printed results with the Olympus Stylus 720 SW, plus drop resistance and full waterproofing. The Stylus 1000 is a decent camera, but not quite a Dave’s Pick.

Indeed a good choice, but it has its known problems.
