Newman has announced its new Newsmy A16HD Portable Media Player in China. The Newsmy A16HD PMP features a 5-inch LCD touchscreen dispay with 800×480 resolution and is capable of streaming 1080i HD video output via HDMI connection. There is an option of either 8GB or 16GB internal memory plus a microSD card slot for additional memory.

There is also an Image Viewer and a text reader, the 8GB A16HD is priced at 699 Chinese Yuan (us$103) and the 16GB at 799 Chinese Yuan (US$118).

The Newsmy A16HD supports most media formats:

* Video: RM, RMVB, AVI, FLV, MP4, VOB, MOV, 3GP, MPG, DAT, MKV
* Audio: MP3, WMA, OGG, WAV, APE, FLAC
* Image: JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF
