Cowon has released a new development kit for the Cowon O2 which gives developers the option to make applications for the O2 PMP. We have featured the Cowon O2 here before but just the refresh your memory its a PMP which has a 4.3-inch screen, supports a wide range of media formats and is worth approximately $698 see a previous article here.

There is a beta version available at the Cowon website for developers can experiment on. If you happen to develop an app you don’t need a O2 to test it, you can get an emulator to test with.
