The LaCie Starck Desktop and LaCie Starck Mobile External Hard Drives are the work of a collaboration with world-famous designer Philippe Starck and LaCie.

The LaCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive is available in 1TB and 2TB storage capacities and comes with the option so you the user can customize the touch-sensitive surface to open an application of your choosing with the touch of a finger, it also has a status LED in the form of Starck’s signature symbol that will glow orange when there is activity on the drive. Both Hard Drives are encased in sturdy aluminum, the LaCie Starck Mobile Hard Drive is available in 320GB and 500GB capacities and features a built-in USB cable while the LaCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive has a USB port.



The LaCie Starck Desktop Hard Drive is available for a starting suggested retail price of $129.99, while the LaCie Starck Mobile External Hard Drives has a starting price of $99.99.

LaCie clearly spent a lot of time designing the look and feel of the Starck Mobile Hard Drive, but it trips up on the basic essentials like weight, ease of use, cost per gigabyte, and transfer speed.
