Kyocera Flexible OLED Cell Phone
Kyocera recently unveiled a kinetic energy-powered phone that has the ability to fold like your wallet. Presently the phone is only a concept that was designed by Kyocera’s industrial designer Susan McKinney, and features a flexible low-energy OLED display which is surrounded by a soft, semi-rigid polymer skin.

The Kyocera EOS can be used in the fold up shape for simply phone calls or unfold it to unveil a wide screen. The phone is powered by kinetic energy so the more you use it, is the more more kinetic energy is turned into an electric charge via the tiny piezoelectric generators.

Shape memory allows the phone’s keys to pop up when in use and goes back to surface level during down time. The phone is yet in its early stages of development but the Kyocera teams in San Diego and Bangalore hopes to integrate it into cellphone in the future.
