iRiver, a leader in the manufacturing of Portable Media Device has launched its first e-book reader, codenamed the Story. The iRiver Story e-Book Reader features a 8-inch e-ink display with 600×800 resolution and measures a mere 9.4mm thick. It has a design which is somewhat similar to the Amazon Kindle 2 and also features a full QWERTY keyboard.

The iRiver Story comes with a internal storage capacity of 2GB and a a SD/SDHC card slot for expansion on the memory to store more books. It has a comic book viewer and it is compatible with books in the following format, PDF, EPUB, TXT, PDF, DOC, PPT, XLS, HWP, Audio files which includes MP3, WMA, OGG and Image Files JPG, BMP, GIF plus compressed ZIP images.

The iRiver Story is presently available for a price of 349,000 Korean Won.
