Google Chrome OS
Google first announced its Chrome OS back in July and now they have announced that it will be officially release within a week. The Chrome OS is targeted at netbooks and will be distributed as an Open Source Software. Most critics are saying that driver support will likely be a weak point, however there is word that Google has engineers working on building hardware drivers and they are also relying on hardware manufacturers to create those drivers.

According to word on the streets, the EEE PC netbooks may be one set of devices that Google will say are ready to use Chrome OS.
