Gateway has announced its new Gateway EC Series Notebook PCs. In this post I will only be focusing on the most popular sizes of the Gateway EC Series, the EC5409u and EC1430u. The EC1430u features a 11.6-inch HD LCD display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and Ultrabright LED-backlit. It packs the power of an Intel Pentium Dual Core SU4100 Processor, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD, 320GB Hard Drive and 4GB of RAM which can be upgraded to 8GB.

Other features includes the integrated Webcam, Multi-in-1 digital media card reader, WiFi 802.11b/g/Draft-N with MIMO technology, Multi-in-1 digital media card reader, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, three USB 2.0 ports and a HDMI port.

The Gateway EC5409u Notebook PC features a 15.6-inch HD LCD display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, 16:9 aspect ratio and a Ultrabright LED-backlit. On the inside you will find an Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor, Media Accelerator 4500MHD Graphics, 320GB Hard Drive, up to 8GB of RAM and a 8x DVD-SuperMulti Double-Layer Drive. There is also an integrated HD Webcam, 802.11b/g/Draft-N with MIMO technology, Multi-in-1 digital media card reader, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, three USB 2.0 ports, dedicated numeric keypad and Gateway MyBackup Button.

The new Gateway EC Series will be available beginning Oct. 22, each with Windows 7 Home Premium. The Gateway EC1430u and EC5409u Notebook PC will be available for $549.99 and $649.99, respectively.
