GigaPan has rolled out its DSLR camera mount, the Epic Pro DSLR Mount. This device is trageted at professional and amateur photographers who wants to capture “multi-gigapixel panoramas”. The Epic Pro mount is strong enough to hold a camera and lens combination of up to 10lbs.

The Epic Pro Mount comes with a 4300mAh rechargeable battery pack and features onboard bubble level for horizontal alignment, powered camera movement; simple fore/aft/up/down adjustment; multiple triggering option that takes up ti 29 images at each image location. It will take hundreds, even thousands of detailed individual photos for one intricate gigapan. There are other functions such as multiple image enhancement; optimized range of motion and a remote trigger port. Look out for the GigaPan Epic Pro DSLR Mount as it will be out in April 2010.

Microsoft recently unveiled three new high-definition HD webcams to their LifeCam line, they include the LifeCam HD-5000, HD-5001 and HD-6000. All three webcams utilizes Microsoft’s True Color technology that capable to do face tracking. They also comes equipped with a widescreen sensor and auto focus technology which gives the devices the capability to deliver 720p resolution videos.

Now getting up close and person with each device, the HD-6000 has a 360-degree rotation view, a three-foot USB cable connection and a carry case. The LifeCam HD-5000 and the LifeCam HD-5001 are basically the same expect that the HD-5001 has a white face. Both has a flexible built-on stand which will stand on most surfaces.

These models all record VGA 640×480 video in Motion JPEG format, with the Snapp CAM3000 featuring a 1.44-inch display, a 1.3 Megapixel sensor and is powered by AAA battery for a price of $28.45.

The Snapp CAM3001 Pocket Camcorder also features a 1.44-inch display and 1.3 Megapixel sensor, however it is powered by AA battery for a price of $29.99.

In addition to the CAM4000 and CAM4505 Pocket Camcorders, Coby also announced the CAM5001 720p HD Camcorder. The pocket size HD camcorder features a 5 Megapixel CMOS image sensor, a 4x digital zoom, a 2-inch LCD display, 128MB internal memory and a SD/SDHC card slot for up to 16GB of memory card.

The CAM5001 has the capability to record 1280×720p HD video at 30fps using XviD codec in AVI format. It has integrated USB plug and HDMI output along with a price tag that says $79.99 and is available on Amazon.

Pentax rolls out its first medium-format digital SLR camera called the Pentax 645D. It boast a 40 Megapixel CCD image sensor that measures 44mmx33mm, which is about 1.7 times larger than 35mm sensors. Pentax’s 645D features SAFOX IX + wide-frame autofocus system with 11 sensor points, 77-segment multi-pattern metering, an easy-to-see optical viewfinder and the DR (Dust Removal) II mechanism.

It is also equipped with the PRIME (PENTAX Real Image Engine) II image engine with high-speed data-processing capacity and new algorithm exclusively programmed for medium-format DSLR. The Pentax 645D is constructed with magnesium-steel alloy main frame, diecast aluminum chassis and dustproof, weather-resistant construction. It will be released in May 2010 for about 850,000 Yen. Also introduced is the smc PENTAX-D FA 645 55mmF2.8 AL[IF] SDM AW lens.

Along with its recent announcement of the Lumix DMC-G10, Panasonic also released another Micro Four Thirds Camera, the Lumix DMC-G2. It is said to be the predecessor to the Lumix G1 which is the world’s first Micro Four Thirds Camera.

The G2 is the first Micro43 camera to feature a touchscreen for touch-operation allowing users to lock onto a subject for AF tracking, select the part and the size of AF area with the 1-area AF and access menu settings easily.
