AT&T gets the Samsung Sunburst Touch Smartphone

AT&T is about to roll out the Samsung Sunburst Touch Smartphone to its consumers nationwide. The Samsung Sunburst features a 3-inch resistive touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels. It has a widget bar feature allows one-touch access to common phone functions like creating a text message, in addition to direct links to social networking sites. There are also AT&T features which includes AT&T SocialNet, AT&T Mobile Music, AT&T Navigator, Motion Detection and Smart Unlock.

Also included are a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capability, accelerometer sensor, GPS, Bluetooth and microSD slot. The Samsung Sunburst will retail for $39.99 after a 2-year agreement as well as a mail-in rebate.

Olive Telecom a mobile manufacturer out of India brings us the Olive FrvrOn V-G2300 Mobile Phone. This Mobile Phone is a new innovation in cellphone technology, short for “forever on”, the mobile phone uses dual power sources by a rechargeable 600mAh lithium-ion battery and a AAA dry-cell battery.

The GSM-based FrvrOn comes with some basic features including a 1.5-inch display, FM tuner and speaker phone. Although such basic specs, you won’t have to travel with a additional battery or travel charger, instead simple pop into a convenient store for a AAA battery to extend the life of the phone. It is priced at Indian Rs 1699 which is approximately US$38.

Nokia has unveiled the first member of its upcoming Nokia C series, the C5 Smartphone. This new smartphone doesn’t have a QWERTY keyboard, instead there is a regular number pad. All I see worthy of anticipating on this new smartphone is its integration with Nokia’s free navigation application, Ovi Maps and the phonebook feature which enables the user to see their friends and contacts Facebook status’s as well as send them messages direct from the phone book.

There is a 2.2-inch display screen, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a 2GB microSD card in the box. The phone has the capability to support up to 16GB micrSD card. The Nokia C5 Smartphone will become available in Europe in the second quarter of 2010 for 135 Euros about $182.

LG InTouch Max is the LG LinkMe in Italy

The recently launched LG InTouch Max has just been launched in Italy but gets a different name for that region. It is know as the LG LinkMe, it carries the same basic features which includes a 3 inch HVGA resistive touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, HSPA, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, full HTML browser, access to Android Market, and LinkBook which gives the user easy access to social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

As LG’s first android-powered smartphone it runs the Android 1.5 OS and comes with a 1GB memory card in the box plus a 5 megapixel camera that has autofocus and LED flash. The LG GW620 has been available in the UK via T-Mobile and Virgin Media since last month for free with a contract, however it is available in Italy for approximately 299 euros which is US$405

At the Mobile World Congress 2010, Sagem has unveiled its new eco-friendly Puma Phone. The much talked about Puma Phone has dimensions of 102 x 56 x 13 m and weighs approximately 115g. There is a 2.8 inch touchscreen display along with other specifications which includes a 3.2 megapixel camera with LED flash and x6 zoom, MP3 player and FM radio, compass, pedometer, GPS with geotagging, USB 2.0, Bluetooth and 3G HSDPA connectivity.

The main highlight of the Puma Phone is the integrated solar cell that also has a charge indicator. The Puma Phone features a talk time of up to 5 hours with 350 hours stand-by time; video call time 140 minutes; music player time 24 hours; video player time 5 hours. HTC has announced the Legend Android 2.1 Phone, this new smartphones features a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 320×480 resolution and features a designed that looks like a redesigned HTC Hero running Android 2.1 Eclair with the enhanced HTC Sense.

Other specs includes a G-sensor, Digital compass, proximity sensor and a optical joystick instead of a trackball. There is also a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with flash, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi and a microSD/SDHC slot. The new Android-powered handset is expected to be out by April 2010.

Acer has announced at the MWC 2010, the Acer Liquid e Android Eclair 2.1 Phone. This new Acer phone features a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display and is powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon processor running underclocked at 768MHz.

The Liquid e is identical to the Liquid and features a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11b/g, support for HSDPA 7.2Mbps.

At the MWC 2010, Sony Ericsson has announced its new Vivaz pro QWERTY Smartphone which runs the Symbian Mobile OS. The new pro version of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard for faster typing, It features a 3.2-inch 360×640 scratch-resistant touchscreen display, A-GPS with Google Map and geotagging, Bluetooth, WiFi, TV-out and a 3.5mm audio jack.

However Unlike the original Vivaz which comes with a 8 megapixel camera, the Vivaz Pro has a 5.1 Megapixel camera with auto focus, flash and ability to record 720p HD video. There is also a a 720MHz processor and runs Symbian S60 5th edition OS with facebook app, Webkit browser, QuickOffice. It supports microSD up to 16GB.
