Apple releases the iPhone SDK

iPhone SDK
Apple has released the iPhone 2.0 software beta version but will not be available to customers until june 2008. The SDK tools and a bunch of tutorials are already available at Apple’s developer website. For those of you that have their hands itching - you might just download all the available stuff and have a go for free. Now developers can develop applications for the most hyped phone on the market at this time.

Apple doubles storage for iPhone and iPod Touch

The iPhone
Apple is now doubling the capacity of both the iPhone and iPod Touch for new customers and all this will cost you is just an extra $100 more. So now you get double the storage for music, pictures, movies and podcasts. Pricing on the existing iPod and iPhone models stays the same. It was announced yesterday that the 32GB iPod Touch sells for $499.

Here is a look at the world’s present thinnest laptop disassembled. The MacBook Air is as thin as 0.4mm. The disassembling was done by iFixit a website that offers solutions on fixing your MacBook, iPod and also doing upgrades.

iPod won’t affect your cardiac pacemaker

The iPod Range
A U.S. Food and Drug Administration researcher has reported that portable media players such as iPods, Sony Walkman and Zune are unlikely to interfere with heart pacemakers. Testing of variety of iPods showed that they do not produce enough electromagnetic field to interfere with the devices. They measured the magnetic fields produced by four different iPod models: a fourth-generation iPod and an iPod with video, and an iPod nano and an iPod shuffle.

Nanoscope: AppleTv 1973.0

Nano Tv
Apple Tv is full of features but check out this AppleTVesque mod called the Nanoscope. It was a 35mm silde viewer but a few moments later you get the Nanoscope. The device was repurposed through a bit of Dremel/cursing to fit an iPod Nano (because it happens to have a screen size not so different from 35mm film.)

Apple Wireless Hard Drive
Another Apple product that was in the news yesterday is the New Apple Wireless Hard Drive also called the time capsule. The hard drive (Time Capsule) is a companion piece for Time Machine, the automated back up system built in to OS X. The box has a Hard Drive and a Airport Extreme N adapter for wireless communication with you Mac’s in your home. The Time Capsule can be set to automatically backup all of the Macs you own on a regular basis. Will be available in 500GB ($299) and 1TB ($499) storage.
