Archos introduces its range of Platinum range of quad-core Android tablets dubbed the 80 Platinum and 97 Platinum HD Tablet. Both tablets comes with an IPS touchscreen with a wide viewing angle plus it also delivers accurate color reproduction. They are both powered by quad-core 1.2Ghz processor with PowerVR SGX 544 8-core GPU and 2GB of RAM, runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system plus they are also protected by an sleek aluminum housing.
The 80 Platinum tablet is the smallest in the range, it comes fitted with a 8-inch IPS touchscreen with a 1024×768 pixel resolution and will be sold for the price of only $199. The 97 Platinum HD on the other hand comes equipped with a 9.7-inch IPS touchscreen with a 2048×1536 pixel resolution that can be compared to the iPad’s Retina Display. The 97 Platinum HD goes for the price of only $299, making it 40% less than the iPad with Retina display.
In addition to all the hardware specifications noted, both tablets also gets a 2-megapixel main camera and a front-facing camera for chatting with your friends. They also come with connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, mini HDMI for connections to a much larger display, it gets 8GB of internal storage plus a microSD card slot for expansion.
