Pantech has announced the release of a new smartphone in South Korea dubbed the Vega No.6 (model IM-A860S/K/L). The new Vega superphone from Pantech comes equipped with a 5.9-inch Full HD touchscreen display with a 1920×1080 pixel resolution and once launched it will be the largest smartphone on the market.
All the smartphones comes with smaller displays with the Galaxy Note II from Samsung coming the closest in size. In addition to its huge display, the smartphone comes with Pantech’s V Touch technology featuring a touchpad on the rear of the handset, located just below the camera lens for easy one hand operating and navigation without blocking the screen.
Specifications wise, the Vega No.6 is powered by a Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 Pro quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, there is 32GB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.
The No.6 offers support for LTE networks, it supports Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. It runs the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean with Pantech’s custom Flux UX user interface right out the box. The Vega No.6 will be available in South Korea in February from SK Telecom, KT and LG U+ at about $780.
