Virgin Mobile in the United States, issued a press release announcing the availability of the new Samsung Galaxy S II 4G Smartphone on their network which is also currently being offered by Boost Mobile. The prepaid carrier is also selling the handset for the same price as Boost Mobile, which is $369.99 without the need for a contract.
The Samsung Galaxy S II 4G is the same as the Samsung Epic 4G that is offered by Sprint. It comes equipped with specifications that could almost match up to the Galaxy S III. There’s a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus WVGA touchscreen display, it is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, an 8-megapixel camera on the rear and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting on Skype with friends.
Other specifications of the Galaxy S II 4G includes, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth plus it also supports Sprint’s 3G & 4G (WiMAX) networks. The handset is now available for purchase from Virgin Mobile and it runs Android 4.0 right out the box, no details if an upgrade will be issues in the near future.
