PlanOn System Solutions just announced what they are claiming to be the world’s smallest full page color scanner and it goes by the name, the ScanStik. This is a portable hand held scanner which is compact with a pen-sized form factor and a sleek design.
The ScanStik is ideal for those who are on the go and need to scan documents at a moments notice, it is fast and easy to use and according to the manufacturer, “its an Office in a Pocket”. Performance-wise the ScanStik features a ‘click and scan’ feature that scans a full page in only 4 seconds, it features a microSD memory card slot that allows the user to save scanned documents on their memory cards, there’s also a USB port that allows the user to transfer scanned documents to a computer.
The device has the ability to scan documents at a 150 to 600 dpi resolution in color or black and white, it comes with PlanOn’s CLC (Crystal Line Contact) image technology with superior image quality for better presentations and OCR accuracy plus it comes equipped an rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery that can be recharged via the computer’s USB slot.
Unlike other pen-sized scanners that only scan a line at a time, the light-weight ScanStik scans the whole page at once just like a flat-bed scanner, but without the bulk. The ScanStik is lightweight, it measures 8.9″ x 0.5″ x 0.5″ and support most operating systems on the market, it is available immediately for the price of $159.99.
