Philips just announced its new pico projector that comes equipped with a built-in media player, PicoPix PPX2480. The new projector is based on DLP display technology, it delivers features such as a 854×480 resolution, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and it is capable of delivering images up to 120-inch in size.
The PicoPix PPX2480 uses RGB LED as a light source which provides up to 30,000 hours and offers up to 80 lumens of brightness. You can find a few connectivity options of the rear of the device, such as a VGA port, HDMI, component, composite inputs and a 3.5mm audio output jack as well.
The Pico Projector has an integrated media player as stated earlier along with an 1W speaker. The player is able to playback videos with the following extensions; M-JPEG, MPEG4, h.264, h.263, MP4, MKV, FLV video, it also supports other media formats including MP3, WAV audio and JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF image files. The projector comes with 2GB of internal storage plus there’s a USB port and a memory card slot that supports SD/SDHC cards.
