Umazon launches the UMA HDDV-1 Full HD digital camcorder in Japan. The Umazon UMA HDDV-1 is a budget camcorder that features a 5.03 Megapixel CMOS image sensor capable of capturing 1920×1080p Full HD video at 30fps in MPEG-4 AVC or H.264 codec. The camcorder also has a 5x optical zoom, 4x digital zoom and an ISO rating of up to 1600.

It is a 10.1-inch netbook with a 1024×600 LED display and is powered by a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, 160GB hard drive and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Archos responded to the requests from the software developer community by opening its ARCHOS 5 and ARCHOS 7 Internet Media Tablet hardware devices by releasing a special developer edition firmware. The firmware is available as a ‘proof-of-concept’ and does not contain the traditional ARCHOS multimedia software. It is thus by no means a commercial grade release.

It is considered as a starting point for developers interested in building native applications and creating new usage models with the ARCHOS 5 and ARCHOS 7 hardware platforms.

QiGi introduces its new Smartbook U1000 Mobile Internet Device in China. The QiGi Smartbook U1000 is the company’s latest Mobile Internet Device that features a 5-inch Touchscreen display with a 800×480 resolution. It is powered by a Marvell PXA310 624MHz processor, 128MB ROM and 256MB of RAM.

The device comes with a built-in TF card of 4GB and has the capability to support microSD cards up to 32GB in size. It sports a 3.2 megapixel camera along with other specifications such as WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, a GPS receiver, Direct 3D engine and G-Sensor plus support for quad-band GSM/EDGE network. The QiGi U1000 measures 11.8mm thick and weighs only 187g with its 1900mAh battery that powers the device for up to 150 hours of standby and 200 minutes of web browsing. The QiGi Smartbook also supports the reading of PDF, TXT document, WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint file formats, AVI, ASF, WMV, Mpeg4, 3GP video files and MIDI, MP3, WMA, WAV, AMR Audio Files.

MaxPoint launches the new KSK-3200 RF mini wireless keyboard with built-in trackball. The keyboard features built-in opto-mechanical trackball with mouse function and two mouse buttons, LED status lights and a full QWERTY layout.

The keyboard features a compact design that measure 293,5 × 28 × 101 and uses the 2.4GHz wireless technology providing a wireless range of up to 10 meters. It is powered by two AAA batteries.

Asus recently added the Eee Box 1501 to its line of ION Nettop. The new Asus Eee Box 1501 ION Nettop features Intel’s dual core 1.6GHz Atom 330 processor, NVIDIA’s ION graphics platform, 2GB of RAM and a 250GB Hard Drive. The Eee Box 1501 is quite a space saver as it measures 193 by 193 by 39mm which makes it easy to fit on your desktop.

According to Acer, the Eee Box 1501 is 50 per cent quieter than traditional desktops so you can watch your favorite DVDs without the mechanical roarings of a device. It is integrated with an IPTV player along with other specifications which includes a HDMI connection so you can connect directly to a HDTV, there is a remote control, a built in card reader, support for 5.1 surround sound, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity and runs the Windows 7 Home Preminum OS.

The Asus Eee Box 1501 ION Nettop is presently available in black and white body colour for a price of £339 approximately $567 US.

Packard Bell unveiled its new iMedia XS C2600 Nettop PC in Europe which seems to be very similar to its parent company flagship nettop, the Acer AspireRevo. The iMedia XS C2600 nettop comes equipped with an Intel Atom 320 1.6GHz processor, 160GB Hard Drive and 2GB of RAM.

It comes with the Windows Vista Home Premium OS and features a NVIDIA ION GPU just like the Acer AspireRevo. The Packard Bell iMedia Nettop also come with a gyroscopic controller that can be used as a game pad or smart media controller and air mouse. There is a HDMI connector, a multi-in-one card reader and support for WiFi connectivity.
