Kodak’s new EasyShare C613 and C763 keep it slim and cheap

easyshare-c763.jpg
Kodak’s hitting all the budget-friendly sweet spots today. Alongside those “fancy” Z712 IS and Z885 shooters, these new C613 and C763 (pictured) EasyShare cameras are positively barebones, with $120 and $180 pricetags, respectively. Luckily, Kodak didn’t do away with specs entirely: the C613 sports a 6.2 megapixel CCD and 3X zoom, while the C763 bumps it up to 7.1 megapixels. The screens are particularly impressive for the prices, at 2.4-inch and 2.5-inches. ISO, in about the 800 range, naturally isn’t as notable as that of the Z series we saw earlier, and there’s no optical image stabilization to keep your pics blur-free, but the combination of low price, small size and beefy megapixels should garner this pair a bit of success when they drop in April. Peep the C613 after the break.

Samsung Q1 Ultra Mobile PC

samsung q1 Ultra Mobile PC
One of the first UMPCs to hit the market, bigger than a PDA, smaller than a tablet, the Q1 is not quite portable enough to rival the PSP for movies on the move, and with no integral keyboard, it’s not quite functional enough to be a really efficient tablet PC. So who would want one of these and what exactly does it do well? The Q1 is excellent for casual Wi-Fi internet browsing, the seven-inch touchscreen is lovely, the sound is good and it has an impressive 40GB hard drive. The truth is that its looks are really rather smashing, and once you’ve had a bit of play, you may well stop questioning the Q1’s place in the market and just, well, want one.

iTunes 7.1

iTunes 7.1
If you started iTunes today you probably got a prompt that it’s possible to upgrade your iTunes to the new 7.1 version that got released today. Erica Sadun over at The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW) has written a nice little story about all the new features in the 7.1 version. I’m downloading it as we speak so I haven’t tried it myself yet by the new full-screen cover flow seems to be a really cool little feature.

The golf ball air gun

Golf Ball Launcher
So you think golf is a boring sport? Think again. Even if you aren’t allowed to use this golf ball cannon air gun at some courses it’s a really cool idea. You use an ordinary air pump to get the pressure up and then you just have to aim and pull the trigger!

Logitech Harmony 1000

Logitech Harmony 1000
The Logitech Harmony 1000 is the latest and coolest remote control from Logitech available at this point. The remote features a small touch screen (3.5 inch) that displays different menu screens for each function but the fact that you have to look at the remote display all the time makes it a bit hard to use. The price is around $500 and the editors of CNET liked it so much that they gave it a rating of 7.7 out of 10. I want one, but I don’t think I would have spent $500 on it.
