ZTE Light Tab 2 Tablet Headed to the UK

ZTE is about to release the new Light Tab 2 that has the model name V9A on the UK Market. The Light Tab 2 comes equipped with an 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display, it is powered by an 1.4GHz Qualcomm SnapDragon MSM8255 single-core processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage space.

The Light Tab 2 also comes with an 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video conversations. It offers support for quad-band GSM/EDGE and dual-band HSPA 3G mobile networks as well as other connectivity options such as WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1. There’s also GPS support, a micro USB port, a G-sensor, proximity sensor, light sensor, a microSD/SDHC card slot and a 3400mAh battery for operation.

ZTE will start shipping the Light Tab 2 Tablet on the UK market in late February and it will start at GBP195.83 which is approximately $308 USD. The tablet will come pre-loaded with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

Olympus VR-340 Digital Camera availability date announced

Olympus finally announced the availability date of the VR-340 Digital Camera which also takes a compact form factor similar to the VG Series Camera that was also recently announced. The VR-340 Digital Camera was initially showcased at the CES 2012 which was held a few weeks back, it comes equipped with an 10x optical zoom lens with 24mm wide angle, there’s an 16-Megapixel CCD image sensor and a 3-inch LCD display on the rear to help keep objects in frame.

Like the VG-160, the new VR-340 also comes with filters Magic Art Filters, a total of nine filters included to add effects to your photos and videos, the camera has a Beauty Make-up mode that enhances the look of faces in shots, Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode, Intelligent Auto (iAuto) mode for clear blur-free images with up to 29 built-in scene modes, Shadow Adjustment Technology, AF Tracking and Face Detection.

The VR-340 series also has the ability to record 720p HD videos and will be available in the colors of Silver, Red, Black, Purple and White for the price of $149.99. Olympus plans to ship the VR-340 in March and will be bundled with a strap to keep the camera secured when no in use.

The VG-160 features a 14-Megapixel sensor, a 5x optical zoom lens with 26mm wide angle and a compact body casing that measures only 19.3mm thick. It has features which includes built-in Digital Image Stabilization for clear and blur-free images, Magic Art Filters, including Pop Art, Pin Hole, Drawing, Fish Eye, Soft Focus and the ability to add cool effects to your photos using the Punk, Watercolor and Sparkle effects.

Other than its ability to capture images, it also has the ability to record 720p HD videos plus it comes with a one-touch button to start recording HD videos. FujiFilm recently announced its newest products from their FinePix lineup, the FinePix T350 which is also known as the T360 on different markets and the FinePix T400. Both cameras comes in a compact casing that will fit in the pocket of your jeans and are equipped with a Fujinon 10x optical zoom. They both comes equipped with a 3-inch LCD display on the rear that helps to stay focus on the object in frame, they offer up to 3200 ISO sensitivity, Motion Panorma mode, Scene Recognition Auto (SR AUTO), Face Detection, Smile/Blink Detection and CCD shift image stabilization.

Both the FinePix T350 and T400 also comes with the ability to record 720p HD videos and is also equipped with a dedicated movie recording button. The T400 gets a 16-Megapixel CCD sensor while the T350 gets a 14-Megapixel sensor. The FujiFilm FinePix T350 and T400 has a scheduled release date in March and will go for the prices of $179.95 and $159.95, respectively. Expect to get them in the colors of black, red and blue, however the company has plans to release a gold, pink, purple and silver version for other markets.

Here’s another pocket projector coming to you from WOWee, the ONE VUE with HDMI connectivity. The pocket projector comes with the ability to project images up to 200-inches, it features a 848×480 resolution when projecting widescreen images with a 15 lumens brightness, a 60Hz refresh rate and a 5000:1 contrast ratio.

Other specifications of the ONE VUE includes the ability to connect to HDMI equipped devices, it offers support for video mirroring as well as those with HDMI port for MHL-HDMI adapter supporting 480p video out. The projector is compatible with iPhone, iPod and iPad using the included Apple direct connect component cable. There is also an optional SHOWWX VGA Dock Adapter that enable the user to connect the projector with a VGA source. The new ONE VUE Pico Projector is expected to be launched in late February 2012 and will go for the price of $369.99.

PocketBook A7 Android e-Reader Tablet

PocketBook A7 Android e-ReaderPocketBook has announced its new A7 Android e-Reader which could be an Amazon Kindle Fire alternative which offers the same range of features. The A7 e-Reader/tablet is the successor to the company’s 701 e-Reader. It comes equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor with 512MB of RAM, it comes with 4GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The tablet comes with physical navigation buttons, it has an 7-inch touchscreen display with a 1024×600 pixel resolution, it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera but it lacks a rear-facing camera, it runs the Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread OS but it doesn’t offer access to the Android Market or has any of Google’s applications.

No pricing details has been announced for the PocketBook A7 but it will definitely be a competitor of the Amazon Kindle Fire once it is released.
